Georgian Bath was home to a broad range of shows, theatre displays and entertainment - a legacy and wealth that left Bath city centre with stunning Georgian properties and the architecture that we see now.
Today, Bath still has a wide range of theatres and entertainment available from casinos, live sport, live music, comedy and theatre, dance and ballet performances.
To go hand in hand with Bath’s hot bed of theatre programming, we’re pleased to offer a popular pre theatre dining menu that is available on orders between 5.30pm and 6.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday evening.
We’re a five minute stroll from Bath’s main theatre (the Theatre Royal) and close to several other theatre and entertainment places in Bath city centre. Here’s our round of up some of Bath’s finest theatres and entertainment venues.

Theatres in Bath City Centre
The Theatre Royal, Bath
Located just a 5 minute stroll from Green Park Brasserie, the Theatre Royal is Bath’s most famous theatre. Traditional in style and with a stunning renovation, the Theatre Royal was built in 1805.
The Mission Theatre, Bath
The Mission Theatre, Bath can be located in a former 200 year old chapel. Proudly independent and locally run, the Mission Theatre hosts high calibre amateur dramatic societies, local and national troupes and also has its own resident Theatre Company who perform some 10 shows per year.
The Ustinov Studio, Bath
Located on the same site as the Theatre Royal, the Ustinov Studio is the sibling theatre space to Bath’s Theatre Royal. With productions often written and produced in Bath, the Ustinov also showcases visiting companies with theatre performances, music and stand-up comedy.
The Little Theatre
Not to be confused for live theatre performances, the Little Theatre is now a historic Picturehouse Cinema which screens both arthouse cinema and mainstream films. The theatre also screens live opera and ballet from national theatres in London.
The Egg
The Egg is another theatre on site at the Theatre Royal, who define themselves as a young people’s theatre complex. Established as a theatre space for children, young people and their families, The Egg does exceptional work with the local community through their outreach programme and hosts year round workshops and participatory sessions.
Other theatres in Bath
The Rondo
The Rondo can be found a short 10 minute drive from us here at Green Park Station in Bath (allow longer for rush hour traffic) in the village-esque Larkhall. An adventurous fringe theatre, the Rondo is a unique and intimate venue, showcasing comedy, theatre and music. Known for their friendly team managing and volunteering at the theatre, the Rondo has a busy and varied calendar of performances.
Bath Spa University Theatre
Home to Bath Spa University’s programme of acting, drama, dance, music and theatre production courses, the University theatre is a small contemporary space set some 3 miles out of bath at Newton Park. Performances and shows can be found throughout the university terms times.
Cheese and Grain, Frome
Cheese and Grain in Frome is one of the South West region’s favourite live music and events spaces. The main hall has also been known to host theatre shows, with local groups and community projects using the space.
Burdall’s Yard
A lesser known Bath theatre, Burdall’s Yard theatre is set in the atmospheric former brewery on Bath’s London Road - just east from the city centre. The theatre is run by Bath Spa University and hosts events and performances from students and visiting professional artists.
