Live music in Bath city centre

Live music update: 28/12/2020

We are back to 4 nights of live music on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Our live jazz, funk, soul and swing nights will run from 6.30pm —7.15pm and 8—9pm. (Please note that timings are approximate).

Since 1992 we’ve hosted live jazz, swing, funk and soul music. Some of Bath and Bristol’s best musicians have played the Brasserie and have become regulars on our live music calendar. We also host special headline nights with Bath Festivals, Bath Fringe Festival, Bath Folk Festival, Bath University’s Music Society and Bath Spa University’s Big Band.

Below are some helpful FAQs to provide further information about our live music at our restaurant.

Can we dance?

Normally, yes! We’ve had many guests who have enjoyed a dance by the band over the years. At the moment we’re asking guests to resist the urge and stay seated while we follow Covid guidance.

What time and days is the live music on?

Wednesday, Thursday from 6.30pm (approx.)

Friday and Saturday nights from 6.30pm (approx.)

Our live music schedule can be viewed here. Please note times are approximate. Our musicians typically play two sets of 45 minutes with a 15-20 minute break in the middle.

Can we stay to listen to the music after our meal?

We have several bar stools, so guests are very welcome to stay for drinks at the bar after their meal to enjoy the live music. Please note we cannot guarantee space on the bar and on very busy evenings, we may require your table back after 2 hours.

What style is your live music?

Our music is slightly different every evening, but is typically relaxed, easy going jazz, soul, swing and funk music. If the music is ever too loud guests are welcome to inform our Manager who can advise the band. You can listen to some example music from our bands here.

Do you take requests?

Unfortunately not, however, we can play “Happy Birthday” for guests if we have a vocalist on (given enough warning in advance).

How loud is the music?

Our bands play to a reasonable level so conversation can be had, we do not recommend our live music evenings for a “quiet catch up meal” though. Our restaurant is a lively Brasserie in Bath city centre and has a buzzing atmosphere (particularly on Friday and Saturday evenings). Melodic and tuneful, many of our musicians have played the Brasserie for many years and know the appropriate level. Guests are welcome to speak to our Manager should the level be overbearing.

Where in Bath is your restaurant?

Our restaurant is in Bath city centre just 5 minutes walk from the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and Bath’s main shopping streets. We are located in the old Green Park Station booking hall opposite the Bath Apex Hotel. (BA1 1JB)

Where else in Bath can we go for more live music?

Live music in Bath is abundant with many bars, pubs and live music venues in the city centre. Live music pubs include The Bell and Bath Brewhouse in Bath city centre. For dancing and larger places, Komedia host late music nights in Bath.

Can we hear the live music in The Library section of the restaurant?

Yes, the music can be heard very clearly in The Library section. However, please be aware the band will be not visible from most tables in The Library.

Can you make any special arrangements for birthday guests?

Yes! If we have a vocalist singing with our band we can arrange a “Happy Birthday” given enough notice in advance (i.e. 3 days before minimum).
