Sunday strolls in Bath city centre

“Eat a meal, walk a mile” Perfect local strolls for pre and post lunch in Bath

sundays-in-bath-where-to-eat-walk-stay

We’re based in Bath city centre, a few moments' walk from Bath Abbey, the Roman Baths and Southgate shopping area. Here are some of our favourite nearby walks and parts of Bath to take in.

  1. The Circus and the Royal Crescent. 7 minutes from us you’ll find some of Bath’s famous architecture - real gems of the city: The Circus and the Royal Crescent. Head up the short hill to Queen Square, to Gay Street where you’ll be met by the stunning Circus which connects with Brock Street leading to the world famous Royal Crescent. A perfect 30 minute stroll after your Sunday Roast.

  2. Bath Riverside: Take in the river and head west out of Bath city centre. You can starts from the town centre (Pulteney Weir) and head towards Green Park and beyond. If you’re feeling adventurous, the cycle Bath takes you all the way to Bristol city centre (about 15 miles).

  3. George Street, Alfred Street and across to Walcot Street. Similarly heading to Queen Square and across to the top of Milsom Street, you’ll find the bottom of Lansdown Hill which is populated with beautiful streets and shops. The Walcot Street Antiques Market is worth visiting (check for details)

  4. Alexandra Park views. A big hill, but worth the walk. Take in all of Bath from the view atop the south Bath slopes and admire the city from one of the most popular views going. You might want to do this one before your Sunday Roast and build up your appetite!

  5. Canals and other waterways. The stunning canal joins the River Avon and links through the peaceful Widcombe and Bathwick areas of Bath. An hour long stroll, plan to head out of Bath through Widcombe and link back through Sydney Gardens from the Canal towpath to take you back into the city centre past the no Bridgerton-famed Holbube Museum and down Putney Street. Green Park Brasserie is then a 6 minute stroll across the immediate shopping streets of Bath city  centre .
