Chef training Programme at Green Park Brasserie and Bath Pizza Co

What is it?

Our Chef Training Programme is designed to bring through the next generation of chefs in partnership with Bath College.

When is it?

Our Chef Training Programme runs throughout the year.

What’s the timeline?

The programme requires a minimum of 2 weeks with us (40 hours per week), but we recommend 4 weeks for you to get the most out of the experience.

What does it involve?

Successful applicants will work in our fast paced restaurant kitchens and receive training and development as a Trainee Chef.

The goals is to help you prepare for future employment. We hope to offer full time positions in the business to outstanding Trainees after they complete the programme.


What Work Will I do?

You will work in two busy kitchens and understand the professional competencies required to work in a successful kitchen:

Bath Pizza Co Kitchen

  • Learn how to make award winning pizza from scratch

  • Open kitchen experience: learn how to engage with customers

  • Understand and make dough from start to finish

  • Develop ideas with the team for weekly specials

  • Help with preparation shifts ahead of service

  • Experience busy services and support the team

Green Park Brasserie Kitchen

  • Exposure to a varied kitchen offering with different menus through the week (Lunch, Brunch, Evening and Sunday Roast services)

  • Work with quality, fresh ingredients working with local suppliers in Bath and the surrounding area

  • Learn how to prep for each of these different services and the demands they put on a kitchen

  • Experience busy services throughout the week and receive exposure to the varied nature of the kitchen

Professional Skills and Key Competencies Taught

  • Food Safety Management (with Head Chef)

  • Costing & Allergens: (with General Manager and Head Chef)

  • The Business of Restaurants and Q&A (with Business Owner)

Who will I meet?

On our Chef Training Programme you will work closely with:

  • Group General Manager

  • Head Chef, Bath Pizza Co

  • Head Chef, Green Park Brasserie

You will meet all members of the team and have the opportunity to have a meeting with the business owners if you would like to ask any questions about the business
